Main Document Upload

Use this option for your books, chapters, and long-form content. This upload triggers Insight’s automatic generation of book metadata, editorial information, marketing content, and more.

To upload a document:

  1. Click Upload from the main menu on the left side of the window.
  2. Select the resource type that best matches your content (e.g., Novel, Non Fiction, Children’s Book). Insight’s analysis is tailored to each type.
  3. Drag and drop your file into the “Select file” area.
  4. Enter the title and author of your document.
  5. Click Create Resource to start processing.

Insight’s AI processing takes a few minutes to complete. You’ll receive an email when the analysis is ready to view.

Upload Options

AI Processing: Choose which fields are automatically generated for your document.

Output Language: Insight can generate its analysis in multiple languages, regardless of the original language of the uploaded document. Leave this blank to generate content in the same language as your document.

AI Style: Select an AI Style—a set of writing instructions and contextual information that influences the marketing content Insight generates. You can create custom styles in your user menu under AI Styles.

Access Mode: Choose whether this document is shared with your team or private and only accessible to you. You can change this setting anytime from the document view.

Additional Fields: Expand this section to manually enter information before upload, such as the ISBN or copyright status.

Batch Upload

Use batch upload to upload multiple files at once, like book chapters or books in a series.

  1. From the main upload page, click Uploading multiple files? Try batch upload at the top right.
  2. Select the resource type (applied to all files in the batch).
  3. Optionally enter template metadata to apply to all files, then click Continue.
  4. Drag and drop your files.
  5. Choose or create a collection to organize the files.
  6. Click Upload to start processing.

Note: For large-scale uploads or backlist ingestion, contact support@veristage.com to automate the process.

Using Uploaded Documents in AI Chat

Documents uploaded through the main uploader are also available in AI Chat:

AI Chat Uploads

Use this option for shorter files and documents, content to supplement your chats, and documents that don’t require Insight’s automatic metadata generation.

Supported formats: AI Chat supports EPUB, Excel, JPG, HTML, PDF, PowerPoint, text, WebP, Word, and XML.

How to upload:

  1. In AI Chat, click Manage Sources (paperclip icon), then Add source.
  2. Drag and drop files into the upload window.

You can also drag and drop files directly into your chat window.

Where files are saved: Documents uploaded in AI Chat are saved directly in that chat conversation or notebook. You can have multiple conversations with them, but they won’t appear in your main document library or be available to Insight’s document tools.

For books and long-form content: Use the main document upload, which includes AI processing optimized for long documents and access to Insight’s full set of tools.
